Collins 10.04w, Caceres 820 in Dakar, by Alfons Juck, EME News DAKAR (SEN, Jun 12): The IAAF World Challenge meet in Dakar was as usual held with winds around. Former 100 m world champion Kim Collins clocked windy 10.04 (+2.3) at the 100 m ahead of Moroccan Aziz Ouhadi 10.12 and Innocent Bologo from Burkina Faso 10.18. Top results in men long jump Eusebio Caceres of Spain won after Rabat also here with 820 (+1.1) over Greek Yeoryios Tkasonas 817 (+1.0). Good distance races by Kenyans Ferguson Rotich 1:45.40 PB ahead of Anthony Chemut in the 800 m 1:45.43 and in the 1500 m Daniel Kipchirch Komen 3:35.15 with Tesfaye Cheru of Ethiopia second 3:35.67 PB. Excellent home win for Mamadou Hanne at 400 m hurdles 48.99 beating Mickael Francois of France 49.84. In other sprints Mosito Lehata of Lesotho wins the 200 m in 20.55 (+2.8) and Wade van Niekerk of South Africa the 400 m 46.45 ahead of Angelo Taylor 46.80. In remaining technical events African wins for Kabelo Kgosiemang of Botswana in high jump 225 (on count-back over Marco Fassinotti 225) and Orazio Cremona from South Africa 20.32 in shot put beating Marco Fortes of Portugal 20.22. Ethiopian Almaz Ayana came close to 3000 m world lead with fast 8:44.30. 2005 World champion Lauryn Williams won the 100 m in 11.26 (-0.1) with Gabon record holder Ruddy Zanga Milama second 11.38. Jamaican Patricia Hall won the 400 m 52.23 and Ukrainian Hanna Titimets the 400 m hurdles 56.33 with Ajoke Odumosu second 56.61. Very good 673 (+1.2) by Bianca Stuart of Bahamas. In throws European wins for German Sabine Rumpf 59.38 and Swedish Tracey Andersson in hammer 67.48.
