Color Coded It was one of my first years at Wes-Del High - TopicsExpress

Color Coded It was one of my first years at Wes-Del High School. How fast 19 years have gone! We were in the faculty lunch room and Vickie, a dear friend of mine on staff mentioned that she needed a paper that we had been given at a faculty meeting. I said to her that I knew exactly where it was in my room if she wanted to go get it. I said something like, “bottom left file draw, back to the purple set of folders, right on top of the one label WDBUS 5.” She chuckled to me and said, “No really.” I said, “Really!” Sure enough, she went to the file and it was right there. We still laugh about it today. You may be asking “Why didn’t YOU just go get it for her, Amy?” I don’t know. It’s tough to pull me away from my 30 minute lunch and Vickie is the master at downing a full meal in 15 minutes or less without choking. It really is a talent she has. Many people laugh at the organization of my file system and cabinets in my room, but I have come to realize that I need this to help me stay on top of the tasks that need to get done each day. Yes, I may go overboard sometimes, but it does work for me. A few weeks ago, I was researching a topic and came upon two words that I will never look at the same again. Honestly. I was researching the word shield and came to the words, ‘be sure to cross-reference’. I understand that the text was encouraging me to look at other passages, but I sure feel differently now. How I need to do more and more CROSS referencing every day! I am so blessed at how God puts simple language lessons in my path. Maybe it is a thought pattern, or a behavior that needs to change in our lives, we need to cross-reference more and more every day. By staying focused with the Savior, not only our files, but our lives would be so much more organized. Proverbs 4:25-26 gives us the directions we need to stay focused. It states, “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” When we steadily look at the Lord alone, and cross reference all areas of lives, we will locate peace in every file folder we have!
