Colossians 2 2 For I would that ye know what (great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, (and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh.) Paul had great conflict for many of the saints that he was a faithful overseer of. Why? Because he loved and discipled them to live godly lives that would be pleasing unto God, but many lived fleshly lives. All the Apostles of God, warned in scripture to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. And Paul had a conflict about them because he knew that those who walked in the Spirit were well equipped to withstand sorrow, tribulation and persecution. All of this goes with the territory of being a child of God. Many are foretold in scripture will leave the faith for the world when tribulation and persecution negatively impact their lives. And many are lead away by enticing spirits. Paul was an open book to all. He shared his life with the christians in many of the New Testament churches .2 Timothy 3:10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 (Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.) We are going to have sorrows and tribulation and persecution for our faith and we need to be mature sons to withstand them. We mature in our faith by living our lives rooted in Christ, obeying him, and the Father purges our branch so that we bear much fruit. And we receive what we ask from Christ because we obey him. We grow in trust of our God by allowing Christ his life in and through us. We grow in grace and love of our God by trusting God for everything. And God is faithful to show us that we can trust him for everything as we obey him. And we grow up in our faith by feeding our minds and hearts, solid food of Gods word. And it is his word that we trust always! How can we trust his word if we dont read his word? Beloved consider it pure joy when you have trials and temptations. James 1:2-4, Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
