Com. Horace Eguono Dafiaghor, Esq., you will be committed to mother earth today. It is hard for me to write anything about you now. My heart is heavy with pain at your sudden departure. My heart is laden with rage at those who murdered you. Your children now will grow up without knowing how very dearly you loved them. And for me, a true friend and a brother - a genuine soul-mate - is lost. My heart is heavy with pain and rage. They took you away from your wife and children, from your parents and grandparent, from your brothers and sisters, from your church, from your friends, and from your community. They took away a man who hated oppression of all sorts with a passion; who hated filthy lucre and looked on it with admirable scorn. They took away a man who cared about truth and justice and fairness and the well-being of his community. They took away my friend. Horace, they cannot hurt you anymore. Those that killed you were afraid of you. They feared that you would bring their evil machinations to naught. They feared your life, but now your death will hurt them even more. Your death will burn in their consciences relentlessly. They will try different things to get you off their minds, but they cannot. The retributive forces of Gods world will be against them. God himself will be against them. And as for us, those of us you left behind, we will not be afraid. The struggle for truth and justice and fairness and for the soul of our community will continue. No, my friend, we will not be afraid. To live indeed is to be committed to the cause of truth and justice and fairness. And to die for these is gain. We will not be afraid. If you must, rest in peace, Horace; but if you can, fight back - fight your killers; fight them to their graves. Amen.
