ComBots....ComBots never changes... In trying to change combot Proto, you become changed; every time we try to tweak Proto into something else, the robot resists. We almost always end up with Proto running the EARLIER versions of weapon, armor, drivetrain--at the Riverside Robot Expo, Pr0T0 was using its original, massive 2024-Al weapon...so we start earlier and earlier each season, hoping to have sufficient time to outrun Protos lock on fate. But no matter how early we start building, it always comes down to a 6 week build season. I started ordering parts in February and here we are with just 7 weeks to go until RCX with the HobbyKing shipment at least 1 week out. Oh, and I still have to figure out how to cut this Titanium. And why? Because ComBots, just like every robot competition, is a race to see who will break down first: creator or creation. CAD files should be completed by the end of the day, and we hope to start doing layups of composites by next week. Then its time to finally figure out how to cut this damned Titanium...
