Combat Shotgun Stocks: Shotgun stocks are a bone of contention. Many shooters opt for the variations of folding stocks for reasons of portability, then find when it comes down to live firing the shotgun, that their choice does not fit the bill. If you feel you must go with one of these models, face the fact that you are going to have to put in several extra hours of practice. It is unquestionably more difficult to fire the weapon with one of these replacement stocks. They are usually built to one length and most cannot be modified. Many do not allow a good cheek weld. Nothing is impossible but it is much more intelligent (mainly due to ballistics) and efficient to fire from the shoulder than from the hip. One step further down the scale is to try and fire utilizing only a pistol grip. I would never recommend the pistol grip only shotgun.
