Come Deeper I splashed along the edges of the water, Delighting in the feel, the lightness, And then I heard a voice call out, “Come deeper!” So I waded out until the water reached my knees. It felt heavier here; harder to walk, But still, it was nice, and then I heard the voice, “Come deeper!” I waded further, to my waist, and stood, Feeling the pulsating of the water. My legs began to tingle from the Life of the water, but... “Come deeper!” As I strove to walk deeper, I felt the undulation Of the waves as, suddenly, they came to me! Lifting, pulling, drawing me on to… “Come deeper!” Until I could not touch the bottom with my feet. I was at the mercy of the powerful rising waves. I let myself go; let them take me further, further… “Come deeper!” So deep was the water below me! So high the waves surrounding me! The Life, the Power of God, pulsing through me, And He said, “Deep enough!” and smiled.
