Their mission is to improve the well-being of homeless animals and increase chances for survival and adoption – with the ultimate aim of eliminating animal homelessness. OBOL’s programs address a diverse range of animal welfare needs. They provide essential supplies for animal shelters, rescue groups and for pets of homeless people, distribute free food, comfort/ care items and offer an extensive Humane Education program. Lush has created a Charity Pot label for OBOL, and the new label will be available for the first time at our party on September 7! MEET THE OBOL FOUNDER Eileen Smulson, and the OBOL Public relations director, Ginger Smulson! Ginger is the cute four-legged redhead, the inspiration behind the whole operation when she stole Eileen’s heart a few years ago. In recognition of her work she received awards such as: Los Angeles Animal Services, CA State Legislature Assembly, County of Los Angeles and CA Senate. She was featured on the Animal Planet TV show, CBS "Dog Tales", NBC Today LA, Animal Talk Radio, Humane Society of the U.S., Animal Sheltering and Animal Wellness magazines, and in Oprah Magazine (March 2013), among many others. AT OUR PARTY, not only will you get to support the wonderful work that OBOL is doing, but we will also have on-going GAMES AND PRIZES to thank you for your support. (For those of you who don’t know yet, Charity Pot is our Fair-trade cocoa butter hand and body lotion from which 100% of the proceeds are donated to our grassroots charities! Customers will have the opportunity to enter a photo contest in which their photo will be posted on the Lush Topanga Facebook page and the photo that has the most likes by the end of the week will get invited, along with two other friends, back to the shop for a treatment date including skincare treats and foot soaks! -Bring an open heart to learn about OBOL, and support them by purchasing a Charity Pot lotion at the party if you are able (available in both $6 and $23 sizes)!
