Come To Me, All Who Are Weary Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) There are always times in our lives when we are fed up and we feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. We feel that everything is going wrong and things are getting so bad that we cannot see any light at the end of the long and dark tunnel. We become weary and burdened, and at this time it is so easy to feel miserable. Yet despite all these things, we need to remember what Christ told us..!! So which of His words must we remember in these times..??? Jesus tells us that He will give us rest - this is His promise to us. But what then must we do to allow His promise to come true..??? We must come to Jesus and allow Him to give us rest..!!!! Jesus Christ tells us to come to Him. What does this mean..??? We must know Christ and accept Him as our saviour. Jesus tells us to take up His yoke, His problems upon us. We are already feeling as if the weight of the world is on us so why is Christ telling us to take His problems…??? Jesus tells us that He is gentle and humble in heart, and in His heart we will be able to find rest for our souls. So we must know and have the heart of Christ. We must know the love and the purpose of Jesus heart. In knowing Christs heart a new world will be opened up to us, and if we swap our worldly burdens for the burdens of the Lord, then the burden will be light. We will see ourselves as the precious sons of God, and we will be able to work diligently for this Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. A true son or daughter will do their fathers work and carry their fathers burdens joyfully. Suddenly then burden is not a worry any more - it is a precious gift to be able to bring joy to your father by the works that you do in your life. So let us truly take rest in the Lord, let us go forward with the heart of seeking Christ and wanting to know His heart: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
