The parade contingent includes students, families, staff, Board of Education members, and the San Leandro mayor. "The outstanding work of the San Leandro school district in creating safe learning environments for all, including LGBTQ students and their families, is a model for other school districts," stated San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy. "I look forward to marching in the Pride Parade again with the San Leandro school district group. Our city and schools together are committed to making San Leandro a welcoming, tolerant, and vibrant city.” Entering its third parade this year, San Leandro continues to be the only school district who participates in the San Francisco Pride Parade. “We invite the San Leandro community to join us in the parade,” Said President Prola. “Come wear a “rainbow color of your choice”—we have posters all ready to go!” The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. so please join the SLUSD teachers, administrators, students and families at the Davis Street BART Station at 9:00 a.m.
