In brief, renowned Australian actor Samuel Johnson (The Secret Life of Us, Crackerjack, Underbelly II, Rush, to name a few) is coming to Redcliffe on Tuesday September 10. He embarked on his record-breaking attempt to travel around the country on a unicycle in the hope of raising over $1 million for ‘Love Your Sister’ and The Garvan Research Foundation. His sister Connie, who is terminally ill with cancer asked that people dare Samuel to take on challenges along the way. Mitchell Hintz, a 13 year old Year 8 student at Southern Cross Catholic College, Scarborough, and avid unicycle rider too, did just that! Mitch dared Samuel to ride his 5 foot unicycle across the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge – the longest bridge in Australia - as a means of showing his support for Love Your Sister, and Samuel has accepted! Samuel’s visit to the Peninsula is one we are celebrating! We would LOVE to make this event the BIGGEST Love Your Sister Event to date and with your support we can!
