Come by the Watauga Humane Societys 4th Annual Spring Plant Sale this morning! Watauga Humane Society will hold its Fourth Annual Perennial and Herb Sale on Saturday, May 10, from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM in the parking lot of Precision Printing, 1302 Blowing Rock Road, in Boone. All plants come from the well-established gardens of the SNIPS* committee members (*Spay Neuter Is a Positive Solution) and will be priced from $.50 to $5.00. Proceeds from this sale will fund the $15 Mother’s Day spay-neuter special now being offered by the Humane Society, while funds last. Perennials will include ajuga, bee balm, black-eyed Susans, campanula, catchfly, columbine, crocosmia, day lilies, Dutch iris, Eryngeum (Blue Hobbit), forget-me-not, forsythia, gloriosa daisy, hosta, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, lady’s mantle, lily of the valley, lupine, ox-eye daisy, red primrose, Shasta daisies, Stokesia (blue daisy), sundrops, Sweet William, Sweet Woodruff, tall phlox, toad lily, vinca, wild yellow iris, wood poppy and yellow daisies. Well also have daffodil bulbs. Herbs will be oregano, cilantro, taragon, bee balm, and feverfew, and we’ll have indoor plants, too: rubber tree, Christmas cactus and Norfolk Island Pine. Stepping stones, decorative pots, bottle trees, decorative plant markers and other plant accessories and yard art will be featured this year, as well.
