Come to our luncheon in October, we have a special guest! HACBA Luncheon Announcement and Agenda for Friday, October 17, 2014- Topic: “A Discussion of Current Consumer Bankruptcy Issues in the Southern District of Texas” Speaker: U.S. Trustee Judy Robbins. HACBAs next luncheon meeting will be on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at noon at The Houston Club, 910 Louisiana, 49th Floor, Houston Texas 77002. HACBA welcomes U.S. Trustee Judy Robbins as our speaker in October. Ms. Robbins was appointed by Attorney General Eric Holder and assumed her duties on Sept. 27, 2010. Ms. Robbins previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Civil Division, in the Southern District of Texas since 1992, focusing on bankruptcy, civil fraud, commercial litigation and employment discrimination. In 2007, Ms. Robbins received the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Awards, Silver Medal, and the EPA’s Notable Achievement Award, Superfund Team of the Year, for her work on a major case involving environmental remediation. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she served as a bankruptcy attorney for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Houston. She has also served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Trustee’s office in Houston, an estate administrator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas and a pro se law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Robbins received her law degree from the University of Houston College of Law and her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Houston.
