Come watch beloved mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade as she chats about her operatic legacy with WHYYs Willo Carey June 3 at 7 p.m. at Field Concert Hall. Shell share career highlights, her commitment to new music, and the creation of A Coffin in Egypts Myrtle Bledsoe, a role that inspired her to come out of retirement and was written for her by composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Leonard Foglia. She performs the east coast premiere of Opera Philadelphias prodution of A Coffin in Egypt starting June 6 at the Perelman Theater at the Kimmel Center. Seating for the conversation at Field Concert Hall is general admission and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
