TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH, SCC QUARTERBACK CLUB MEETING, 6:30 p.m. All SCC parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends are invited to join us on Tuesday night. Join our SCC coaches for a good meal and good fellowship. The guest speaker is Ron Roberts. Roberts is the head football coach at Southeastern Louisiana University. Coach Monica has also invited all past presidents of the Comet Quarterback Club to join us tonight. Come out as we prepare for our first play-off game to take place on November 21st. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH, GIRLS SOCCER AT WALKER WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH – SICILY’S PIZZA NIGHT FOR SCC We give thanks for our families and friends! Let’s gather for St. Charles Catholic’s November Sicily’s School Night tomorrow night. Just turn in your receipt, and Sicily’s will donate 25% of collected sales to SCC. Don’t forget to note your favorite teacher on the back of your receipt to help one of your classes win a pizza party. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, FCA MEETING, 6:30 p.m. FCA is once again sponsoring “Operation Christmas Child” and is requesting donations, as they will be making gift-filled shoeboxes for needy children around the world. All SCC families are asked to support our effort to help the needy children. Please drop-off donations such as new school supplies, new socks, new soap, toothbrushes and small toys to school this week. Please label the donation: FCA. FCA POINSETTIA SALE – Order forms coming soon! SCC ACTS OF THANKSGIVING KINDNESS Now that we are preparing for Thanksgiving, all Religion classes are collecting food to fill bins for Ascension of Our Lord Parishs needy families. Each student is volunteering or being assigned to bring in a specific food item to help create food baskets for families who need a little help during difficult times. Sixteen baskets will be delivered to AOL after our annual Thanksgiving Mass next Thursday. SCC THANKSGIVING MASS – NOVEMBER 20TH – 9:55 a.m. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21ST, SCC VS. DE LE SALLE, HOME The Comets take on the Cavaliers in SCC’s first play-off game of the season. Tickets are on sale in the office. The cost is $8 pre-game and $10 at the gate. Please be reminded that everyone must purchase a ticket for play-off games. THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS – NOVEMBER 24TH – 28TH TAYLOR AUDUBON FREE DAY – NOVEMBER 29th Visit with family and friends on the next Taylor Audubon Free Day: November 29, 2014. The Taylor Family Free Day is held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving Day. Taylor/Audubon Students may visit Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium. Taylor/Audubon Scholars may visit Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and Audubon Zoo. Please check in at the membership window with your Taylor Card before entering. This applies to all SCC students who received either of the Taylor Awards attached to their final report card in May. DECEMBER 1ST – SENIOR PARENT MEETING, 7 p.m. SCC Commons All seniors and parents are required to attend this important meeting to learn more about scholarships, financial aid and TOPS. There will also be a guest speaker. BALFOUR’S LAST VISIT TO SCC, DECEMBER 3RD Balfour will be on campus one last time on Wednesday, December 3rd to take orders for junior rings and senior announcements for anyone who missed the first round of ordering. MARIE ORY DUPONT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DUE DECEMBER 5TH The Marie Ory Dupont SCC Scholarship applications are available online and at the SCC newsstand. The deadline for submission is Dec. 5th. Scholarships will be awarded the first week of January 2015 and applied to the student’s 2014-2015 SCC tuition. (Seniors are also eligible.) The scholarship winner will win $1500 towards their tuition. ACT – Next Test is DECEMBER 13th All students should be completing the ACT practice question of the day, which can be found at act.org/qotd/.
