Comets surgery was something more than remarkable. Two - TopicsExpress

Comets surgery was something more than remarkable. Two genetically defective teeth forming with holes in them, allowing for food and bacteria to reach the roots and cause infections, had to be extracted. Our vet, Dr. Stacey Sickler, discovered the problem and consulted with Dr. Henry, a specialist from Wisconsin who teaches at UC Davis and who designed his own dental instruments to extract teeth intra-orally instead of being pounded out through the sinus. She made arrangements for Dr. Henry to fly into Phoenix for 2 days to perform dental surgeries for her and other veterinarians equine cases. Dr. Henry made it look easy but it was a long surgery and he kept taking x-rays along the way to make sure it was done completely and cleanly. We feel so lucky and humbled to be part of this experience.
