Coming from Saudi Arabia, I often neglect the blessings and favors - TopicsExpress

Coming from Saudi Arabia, I often neglect the blessings and favors of Allah upon me. We seem to take things for granted! Despite the many times I travel abroad, despite the enthusiasm I see among the youth, I often feel depressed! I am used to living in a country where Athan is heard everywhere you are and shops close for at least half an hour for each prayer. Women are still modestly dressed although efforts have been underway to change this radically to westernize the Muslims. Disbelievers are still respecting Islam and abiding by its rules as they don’t openly drink as it is a felony to sell or consume liquor. However, in other so called Muslim countries, things are different. They don’t observe nor respect the times of prayer. Last night, I couldn’t pray Isha as a live band was playing music for hours throughout Maghreb and Isha prayers. Women are almost naked with their miniskirts and shorts. Most hijabi sisters wear tight jeans or skirts, tight tops with short sleeves but may Allah reward them; had their hair covered! Is this what you call Hijab? Some of these sisters were clapping and dancing, with their Hijab. I was told that they even participate in X factor and Got Talent programs. The people however find great pride in their innovations when the Mawlid or the 15th of Sha’aban is due! If this systematic plan continues, in a few years’ time, the Muslims will lose their control and the disbelievers will rule them as they did in Spain, India and other countries. If the people don’t abide by the Quran and Sunnah, soon they will be a tale of history like those before them. May Allah guide us all to holding on to the Quran and Sunnah and grant us appreciation of the prevailing Islam in our country. - Shaykh Assim AlHakeem
