Coming from diverse backgrounds around the U.S., John, Scott, and Gary are not brothers. They adopted a stage name after discovering their shared interests in music and performing. Just as the British Invasion was beginning to sweep through the States, they decided to move to the U.K. and try to find success. The Walker Brothers had two #1 hits on the British charts. Make It Easy On Yourself was their first huge hit and is todays feature. Perhaps better known for The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore, it was their second chart-topper in the U.K. Make It Easy On Yourself was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. After the British success of the single, it only managed a #16 peak in the U.S. during late 1965. With a richly arranged orchestra sound and a dramatic production, Scott Walkers lead made a dynamite pop record that simply couldnt find enough space in the U.S. where the charts were crowded with British bands. While researching this song, I found it interesting to learn that Vic Flick played guitar during this songs session work in Philips Records London studios. Flick and the guitar he used were featured in a recent Pawn Stars episode on the History channel.
