Coming to Sweet Briar I had such small goals for myself. I had lived in a small town my entire life and knew (or thought I knew) what was realistically possible for someone like me. Over my years at Sweet Briar the wonderful community of professors, mentors, peers, etc. challenged and inspired me to see past these limitations. The small atmosphere allowed them to get to know me and structure their curriculum around my personal goals. They encouraged me and made it financially possible for me to study abroad in Italy and attend national and international conferences that discussed issues relevant to my areas of interest. Sweet Briar helped broaden my perspective on what was possible for someone like me to achieve. I am now working towards my second masters degree in a large state university with plans to conduct my own research (maybe write a book!) and become a college dance professor. Never would I have made it to this place or thought this was even possible without the Sweet Briar education that I am so blessed to have received. I couldnt have imagined how much Sweet Briar prepared me to really make a difference in my field of study, and I am beyond grateful for the experience! #Holla4thanks
