Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka has set Typhoon Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) IV. Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka has directed the setting of Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 4 for Yokosuka, Ikego, and Negishi (to include all areas under CFAY) due to Typhoon 19 W (VONGFONG). Onset of destructive winds is currently expected to occur after midnight (0001 local) TUES 14 OCT (gusts equal to or greater than 60 kts). Small variations in forecast track may result in greater sustained wind speeds, duration, and timing. As such, preparations are being made to be storm ready (TCCOR 1 attainment) by 1200 local MON 13 OCT. Please take all reasonable precautions to prepare for high winds and heavy weather, including securing outdoor lawn furniture, toys, sheds, etc. Additional information about projected status of Schools, Commissary, Main NEX, USNH, and other installation services for MONDAY and TUESDAY are TBD.
