Commanding Officers Suggestion Box (Addendum) We are re-posting as a follow up to an answer that we provided for an earlier post regarding lap swimming on NAS II. COs Responses to your Suggestions: Concern regarding lap swimming on NAS II: When the new pool on NAS 2 opens up, what will be the hours of operation? I have asked around and no one seems to know. It would be great to have it opened for laps before work, during lunch, or in the afternoon. Also, for those of us who get off of work late, having the pool on NAS I close at 1730 is inconvenient. Can we extend the hours of operation? Please and thank you. Response: In accordance with CNIC guidance swimming pools world-wide were frozen to FY13 operating costs. Accordingly, our lap/fitness swim services were limited to 37.5 hours per week. To expand beyond this limit requires CNICs approval which is unlikely in our current financial environment, especially since the average lap swim usage for the past 12 months in the afternoon, 1430-1730, has been 6 swimmers. The pool hours for lap swimming are as follows: NAS I M/W/F: 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. T/TH: 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. NAS II swimming pool hours are: M/W/F: 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. T/TH: Closed
