Answer @ Dr. Cristian Rachitan, ND: Whenever I remember Gura Vaii , strong emotions challenge me ! I feel it is my duty and I am proud to have sprung from that source of good and beauty, where the Danube is hugging the mountains, where the “Jidostita” river strains among beautiful hills from Gura Vaii, rushing towards the Danube. Here, during springs, I used to climb the “Rapagul” road, wandering “Curatura – Prizloapele” (the small and large ones) “Virbitul” and many other hills above the village , to gather flowers enjoying the resurrection and magnificence of nature. There, the beauty and the smell of the forested hills were more special than anywhere else in the world (that a later I wandered along and across). To all this, a unique show performed by an ensemble of birds having as soloists the cuckoo and the hoopoe is to be added. I used to drink spring cold water – benefic for life and health, from “Gildaul Prohodului” and “Dosul Luchitei” ! What wonderful names left by brave and fearless ancient Dacians ! Nowhere in the world the beauty of nature is so great as on the hills above Gura Vaii ./ De cate ori imi amintesc de Gura Vaii, ma incearca o emotie! Ma simt dator si sunt mandru ca am rasarit din acel izvor de bine si de frumusete, unde Dunarea se imbratiseaza cu muntii, unde raul Jidostita se strecoara printre frumoasele dealuri ale Gura Vaiului grabindu-se spre Dunare. Aici, primaverile urcam drumul Rapagului cutreierand Curatura-Prizloapele mici si mari, Virbitul si multe alte dealuri de deasupra satului, ca sa adunam flori bucurandu-ne de invierea si minunatia naturii. Pe acolo, frumusetea si mirosul dealurilor impadurite erau mai speciale ca oriunde in lumea pe care mai tarziu am cutreierat-o de-a lungul si de-a latul. La toate acestea se adauga un spectacol inedit sustinut de ansamblul de pasarele avand ca solisti cucul si pupaza. Tot pe aici beam apa rece de izvor datatoare de viata si sanatate din Gildaul Prihodului si Dosul Luchitei! Ce multe nume stravechi lasate de vitejii si neinfricatii daci! Nicaieri in lume frumusetile naturii nu sunt atat de minunate ca pe dealurile de deasupra Gura Vaiului.
