Comment: Why Pakistan had to rush to Sri Lankas aid in such an obvious manner? Answer is: because Islamabad and Colombo have a strategic relationship. Pakistan helped Sri Lanka against Tamil insurgency and Sri Lanka sent its Cricket Team to Lahore, on the request of Pakistan, to help end Pakistans cricketing isolation; when you try to understand why Sri Lankan team was attacked and who were these Islamists who had suddenly the interest to attack brown Buddhist Sri Lankans (a cricket team whose only purpose in Lahore was to help end Pakistans international sporting isolation) who could be behind such Pop Up Islamist Groups you only need to look carefully at the regional power politics; Who wants to isolate Sri Lanka now and who is trying to stand by Sri Lanka? ....you need to exercise the same lens when you try to make sense of the senseless attack on mountaineers in the base camp of Nanga Parbat...I was talking to some one who investigated the terror attack against mountaineers; money was paid by some one in Afghanistan to a local in Chilas with the ostensible purpose to either kill or abduct international mountaineers, there was nothing religious or ideological about it, it was, like many such acts, a pure mercenary job objective was once again regional and international isolation...you need to keep such information at the back of your mind as you try to debate the solutions to this supposedly Islamist insurgency and the sheer elements of criminality and mercenary - you should not also think that Islamist angle does not exist; it does in a big fashion but embedded inside the idiots are the paid criminals as well.....
