Comment on MEHS Family : MEHS has the best Alumni Organization in Burma. We are like family for the following reasons : 1) AT MEHS, we graduated as a class. When you are promoted from 3rd to 4th Standard, the whole class moves from one room to another room. From 1st Standard to high school graduation I was in the same class every year with the twins Aye Set & Aung Set. We grew up together and became like family. 2) When we graduated from high school, I was very much in demand at Rangoon University for dating introduction. MEHS had the best looking girls and anyone wanting an introduction would ask for my assistance. I would refuse to introduce them to MEHS co-eds if they have a bad reputation or bad grades. 3) Usually at school reunions, you would see attendance by alumni with their wives or husbands. But not at MEHS alumni reunions. They would come to the Re-Union alone to be with their other Family. Rena Pederson who served on the Pulitzer Prize Board (Americas highest journalism award) for 8 years and the last year as Chairman, is publishing a book on Burma which will be released in January 2015. One Chapter is about the major role played by MEHS alumni is restoring freedom and democracy in Burma. The Burma Lobby is led by MEHS alumni, and because of their leadership role, many US Government officials in Washington DC think there is only one high school in Burma. _______
