Commentary 12/20/14: I have too many fb friends… and a few of them are not carrying their weight. Facebook friends fall into several categories, If I may; 1) Active, engaging = frequent thoughtful and entertaining posts that I can‘t wait to share (10%); 2) Rainy-day posters = now and then you see them, then you don’t (50%); 3) rarely if ever posts to fb (30%); 4) then there are the“no-likers” (30%) = fb friends who just are too snobby to have their name show up on your fb status, no matter what… (I tend, after awhile, to not-“like” them back, just as hard, har.); And finally, 5) “dead-beats” = those fb friends who just don’t bother, and appear as obscure an reference on down the friend’s list. If you recognize yourself as a “dead-beat”, please go ahead and unfriend me and save me the trouble… I won’t miss you. So, If suddenly you see your friendship numbers ticking backwards, It might be because your fb efforts (or lack thereof) are failing, and I just thought it was time we moved along… For those of you in category #1, let me say… you are the finest, most thoughtful and appreciated friends in the world, to me. Your constant brilliance and involvement in the world of things and ideas keeps me informed and entertained to no end. Love you all!
