Commenting on my earlier re-post: I just listened to the interview...I came away a bit differently than Rob. OReilly purposely wrote the book as a history book, not as a religious book. He also stated that he he could be wrong about his rationale for not including the forgive them.... statement while Christ was on the cross. He simply wanted everything to be plausible from a secular historical perspective. He said he believed that Christ said it at a different time, when others would have heard it. I am not saying he is right; I just think he is coming from a different point of view. Although I have not read the book, it still may have a positive impact on some, who are not believers and/or fervent in their faith.
