Re: incentives for women entrepreneurs: MA ranks #36 in the US for women-owned firms created since 1997. The Senate Committee on Womens Entrepreneurship, chaired by Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued findings that only 4% of start-up capital given to small businesses goes to women. Funding for women business centers that exist in all 50 state has not increased since the 1990s. Federal loans often require matching funds, and this would be a very good investment by the state in our economy.
