Commiting to ones vision is impossible without acquiring sight. - TopicsExpress

Commiting to ones vision is impossible without acquiring sight. Insight is the integration of ones own or another seers sight into perceptions that purify, pollute, pivot or produce perspective. By realizing that the intuition of insight is the impetus for acting with conviction, the importance of seeing for ones own self is revealed. Whereas being authorized by an authority (with anothers sight) earns legitimacy, becoming an authority (by ones own sight) establishes authenticity. Legitimacy is pragmatic. Authenticity is principled. Vision that is legitimate demands commitment. Vision that is authentic attracts commitment. Vision that is neither legitimate nor authentic creates confusion. Confused vision that claims legitimacy in the absence of authenticity produces tyranny. Confusion that asserts authenticity without legitimacy installs chaos. Committment to a vision takes the form of policy, or the policing of a vision. The legitimacy and authenticity of a vision are checks and balances whose integrity relies upon their evaluation within and adaptation to specific times, places and circumstances. When one speaks of committing ones self to any person, purpose or philosophy, and their corresponding exponents, ones genuineness is invested with the quality of ones vision. Commitment to a vision as a matter of politics can only be as genuine as it is legitimate, because politics pragmatically rules policy. This is the practical foundation of living according to the purpose of the legitimacy of the vision. The legal system operates in this way. Marriage as a legal commitment is a prime example. Commitment to a vision as a matter of devotion will only be as genuine as it is authentic, because devotion serves principle even at the cost of practicality. This is the mood of living by the ideals of ones authentic vision. Religious peoples aspire to this standard of being. Marriage as a religious commitment is intended to be about mutual devotion. So, in order to have an honest discussion about commitment and a reasonable hope of sustaining our commitments we need to recognize the political and devotional factors that contribute to the integrity of our given word (assurance). We should examine the interdependence of practice and principle upon the qualities and qualifications of our commitments. This will help us to consider that even our best political and devotional intentions and exercises of commitment will fail if we do not adapt our environment to our will. The fortification of this foresight is the guardian of genuine commitment: the integrity of desire.
