Common Deceptions ( Sin is Sin!) “He that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” Luke 16:10 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17 I’ve been meditating on common deceptions among Christians lately and there seems to be confusion and scales on the eyes of many believers in the area of sin. We must be vigilant and sober to see it as God see’s it and handle it accordingly, but the problem is that so many are asleep and are to busy weighing, compromising and examining others sin instead of examining their own. We must remember that there are two types of sin and those are the sins of COMMISSION which are the sins that we commit against the Laws of God and then the sins of OMISSION which are the things that we know we should do and don’t like read, pray, fast, give etc. It seems as though we put a greater weight on the sins of commission then of those things we don’t do. Then think that were not sinning if were not breaking the ten commandments. This is a lie straight from hell. There is no degrees on sin just like there are no degrees on death. You are no more dead if you died today than 15 years ago.Sin is sin and we are just as guilty if we are omitting the things that we are commanded to do. Charles Finney said “ The real state of a man’s heart is often most obvious in small matters” & “ A man who will not practice self denial in little things to promote Christianity would not endure persecution for it’s sake.” It is the little things, the things that are done in private when there is no possibility of accolades of men that show pure motives of the heart. Keep a watch closely over these seemingly small matters so you will know your character as it appears before God. They are not small to God so they shouldn’t be to us.
