Common Mistakes in IELTS 1. Using my favourite. E.g: On the weekend I enjoy my favourite. This is incorrect as you need to have a noun after favourite [food, activities, movies etc]. 2. Using cooker for a person. A cooker is a machine you cook with and not a person. A person who cooks is called a cook and a professional cook is called a chef. 3. Using most of people. It should be most people or most of the people in/at... 4. Using day by day. This isnt academic and instead try to use phrases such as increasing more or more often. 5. Using I in writing. Try to avoid using person language and instead try to reword your sentence or express your ideas differently.
