Common Week 32 - Friday 15/11/13 Gospel ( Lk 17.26 to 37 ) - The Lord be with you . - He is in our midst . - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke + . - Glory to you , Lord . At that time , Jesus said to his disciples : 26 As it was in the days of Noah , so shall it be in the days of the Son of Man . 27Eles eating, drinking , marrying and giving in marriage , until the day that Noah entered the ark . Then the flood came and slew them all. 28Acontecerá as in the days of Lot : they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and built . 29Mas in the day that Lot went out of Sodom , God rained fire and brimstone from heaven and slew all . 30The same will happen on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. 31Nesse day, who is on the housetop not come down to pick up the goods that are in your home . And who is in the field not turn back . 32Lembrai you Lots wife 33Quem seeks to gain his life will lose it , and whoever loses it will save it . 34Eu I tell you tonight will be two in one bed : one will be taken and the other left . 35Duas women will be grinding together : one will be taken and the other left . 36Dois men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left . 37Os disciples asked, Lord, where will this happen ? Reflection by Fr Pedro Paulo Lourenço : Friday November 15 Lk 17: 26-37 The United Arrived The manifestation of Gods reign was expected with the coming of the Messiah . That would be the Lords day, a time of judgment and reward. Jesus tells the Pharisees that knowing the time of day of the Lord is not important . The key is to recognize the presence of Gods reign now in the midst of them . The ministry of Jesus is the sure sign that the kingdom of God has begun. For more clearly that Jesus claimed that the order can not be calculated and that their time should not be of concern , the question continued to arise while he went to Jerusalem , and then in the Church . Today it is still important concern for many Christians and concern remains misguided . Jesus teaching on the issue could not be clearer . Do not waste time looking for signs and watching ingenious calculations . Take aware that the Reign of God is in your midst , unless they now bear his full attention to this reign , there will be prepared for the coming of the Son of Man when it occurs . And no one can know when it will happen . The Kingdom will come as a Lightning After calling attention to the present reality of the Kingdom of God , Jesus turns to the disciples to explain what is to come . The presence of the Kingdom of God does not mean that the trials ended , there is still much suffering reserved for Jesus and his followers . The disciples are desperate for the coming of the Son of Man and this will lead them to follow false prophets and deceptive theories about its appearance . But when it happens , the appearance of the Son of Man will not be subtle or mysterious . Everyone will know . Be as expressive as the lightning in the sky . The contrast of the glory of the Son of Man with the suffering that will precede his coming it even more obvious . Day Son of Man will be As in the days of Noah But whatever happens , people will be unprepared . Worldly pursuits to attract , attracted as those who lived in the days of Noah before the flood and the inhabitants of Sodom until the day of their destruction . So Jesus emphasizes the importance of recognizing the presence now of Gods reign . He must rule our lives now , not only in order , otherwise we will not be prepared to go when you get the call sudden . One who is concerned with their goods and try to save them is lost . Lots wife is remembered as wedded too much to contain and not look back . How Do We Prepare Dear brothers . We need to be prepared for the day , we will not know in advance . We will not know in time to chase after a good confession . Indeed, if this were the case , the queue to confess , double the corner, or have several kilometers . The time to prepare for the final judgment is now , we can not leave it for later . Watch and pray . Repent and make a good confession It was not for lack of notice. Jesus repeatedly warns us that his coming will be unexpected . He left us all the resources so that we could be prepared . Just look the confessor in advance , and try to keep yourself in a state of grace until it falls into sin again , and got up again, and so on . Fall and rise. Never stand on the ground , never get used to the darkness of sin , because it will happen anytime the end of the walk , and light signaling the beginning of the Kingdom of God will appear to each of us .
