Common question we get asked- if exercising at a low intensity - TopicsExpress

Common question we get asked- if exercising at a low intensity over a longer time uses fat as the predominant energy source, as opposed to exercising at high intensity over a shorter period of time that uses carbohydrates for energy why have you got me working at a high intensity when my goal is to lose body fat? The simple answer is over a 24hour period the high intensity workout will have you activating your fat stores to generate energy post workout at a far greater rate than that of low intensity training. So... the real question should be how do I fuel my body appropriately (correct amounts of carbs/fats/proteins) to ensure that I am taking advantage of the training my PT has me doing. The best answer is be specific. This is why we recommend No Cheating! Because you are talking to a real person, not getting a computer generated meal plan.
