Commons brace for Mart down on pack 7! RGBaits team member Martin Preddy recently found success down on his Cambs. Syndicate, The Woolpacks lake 7. Despite a drive in excess of two hours and having only alternate weekends to fish due to work commitments, Marts persistence has finally paid off, with not only one but two fish. After a little longer than anticipated drive due to traffic, he was finally at the lake and itching to get the rods in, a few laps of the lake were carried out in a bid to find the fish and allow him to make the most of his time on the bank. The lake beds somewhat silty make-up aided with fish location, the tell tale “plumes of bubbles” often seen coming from such lake beds as the fish nose about soon made up Martins mind when it came to swim choice. The tackle was quickly out the van and on the barrow, the blinkers were on and it was full steam ahead to the peg. In went the bait, shortly followed by three baited rigs, gracefully onto the spots, it didn’t take long and just two hours later the first rod was away resulting in a common of 26.8, pictures were taken and the rod re-cast. The following morning away she went again, this time Martin was greeted with another common of 28 on the nose which set a new pb common for him, both fish falling to 15mm Formula pop ups fished over generous helpings of Formula boilie. Mart tells us he was elated with the result and rightly so as the venue can prove very tricky at times, talk about short session success ey, congrats on the pb and well in that man!!
