Communications & Marketing Internship (Non-profit) Central Lutheran Church, located immediately north of WSU main campus, seeks a creative self-starter to help Central tell its story: to its members and friends, and to the greater Winona community. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing at an established community based nonprofit organization. Potential Responsibilities & Tasks • Help clarify and unify the CLC “brand” across multiple media platforms (print, online, video). • Enhance existing communications — eg: update print and online layout & design, suggest efficiencies, help target affinity groups and audiences. • Publish a monthly printed newsletter • Publish a weekly printed “announcements/happenings” • Help initiate a weekly eNews process • Oversee & maintain website content • Generate press releases for events • Create fliers, graphics, and other marketing material • Collaborate with staff and volunteers on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications. Skills & Qualities Sought • Passion for helping an organization move to a new level of communication expertise • Ability to interface with people from a variety of ages and backgrounds • Graphic and/or Layout Design • Creative marketing experience About Central Lutheran Church Central Lutheran Church is the largest Lutheran congregation in Winona (about 1,600 members), with a vibrant worship life, a strong music & arts presence, an active youth & family ministry, and a commitment to community upbuilding, especially the FEAST, a free, home-cooked community meal served Wednesday evenings.
