Communities In Schools of Southwest Kansas is looking for 50 or so volunteers to help with its first Reality U at Liberal High School on Tuesday, November 12th. This is one of the most engaging financial literacy simulations we do with students and it is so well received that both teachers, administrators and volunteers repeatedly ask us to do it each year. Each LHS freshmen has completed a survey indicating what they imagine their life to be like at the age of 26. CIS will then predict what their job and salary will be at the age of 26 based on the student’s gpa and the survey results. Students will receive their computer generated profile including their marital status, number of children, occupation and income at Reality U. They will then travel around to the 14 booths at Reality U to secure housing, transportation, insurance, food, childcare, entertainment and so on during Reality U. But we need volunteers to help with the booths. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students. At least two volunteers are needed for each booth at each of the time slots. Volunteer today for one, two or even three or four time slots at this event and we promise you’ll be as engaged in this learning event as our students are.
