Community Action for the Welfare of Children CAWeC is on a district awareness raising campaign on the prevention and eradication of malaria and the deadly Ebola malady in the country. In his presentation, the Director Community Action for the Welfare Children CAWeC, Abdul Sankoh admonished the three communities targeted (Samu, Masungbala and Mambolo Chiefdoms) to be fully aware that Malaria is a killer disease but preventable and curable while Ebola is real and extremely contagious and deadly. He called on all to put shoulders to the wheel to fight against the two diseases out of Kambia District and Sierra Leone as a whole. Mr. Sankoh advised community members drawn from Mambolo, Masungbala and Bramaia chiefdoms to report all sicknesses in their various communities to the nearest health facility and avoid taking sick people to quack or traditional healers so as to prevent the spread of the deadly Ebola virus and save the lives of under 5 children from a curable and preventable disease called Malaria.
