Their number is 541-977-3034. • And the Wild Huckleberry Food Stand across the way from Warm Springs Market – now serves breakfast weekdays. The Culture and Heritage Program has a new set of classes lined up for language and culture learners. • Starting today – the Writers Circle for Middle and High School students will focus on the skill of writing. It’s Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6 classes and then another set of classes will begin on February 18th. • Kiksht Language class begins tonight & will be held Tuesday Evenings from 5 until 6:30. • Ittitamasha is a math based cultural activities afterschool program weekdays from 4-5pm except Wednesdays. Warm Springs Elementary teacher Esther Kalama leads the activities. • Starting January 27th there will be after school language classes for elementary and middle school students. All classes are being held at the Old Boys Dorm. Culture and Heritage is having problems with their telephones and internet so the best way to learn more is to go see them at their offices in the Old Boys Dorm. Tuesday 1/21 • Executive Committee Updates are on the Tribal Council Agenda today – the Fish & Wildlife, Culture & Heritage, Health & Welfare and Education Committees are scheduled. • Today in MHS Sports – The boys and girls’ basketball teams will all travel to North Marion High School today for games. • South Wasco County Varsity and JV Basketball play at Horizon today at 3:30. • A “Reawakening” class teaching Advanced Corn Husk Bag making will begin today at 5:30pm at the community center. This is a 4-session class taught by Kelly Palmer, supplies are provided and its open to the first five people to sign up. Call Carol at the Community Center to sign up. Today’s Fitness Activities in Warm Springs - • Walking/Low Impact Strength Training at the Family Resource Center at 10am • Functional Fitness Class at 12:10 at the Community Center, and • Kickboxing at 1:30 at the Community Center The Warm Springs American Legion Post 48 meets tonight at 6pm at the Warm Springs Veterans Hall. They meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The Warm Springs VFW Elliot Palmer Post meets the first Thursday of the month also at the Veteran’s Hall Sign up for Movin’ Mountains 2014 Mission Possible is this Thursday and Friday at the Jefferson County Health & Human Services Building in Madras and at the Warm Springs Community Center-Physical Therapy Room. An additional sign up session will be held on Saturday in Madras. This 16 week program and competition encourages fitness and healthy eating to help people slim down and live healthier. KWSO will hold a meeting of our Community Advisory Board this Friday at 2pm at the Warm Springs Media Center. The meeting is open to the public. Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center, Diabetes Prevention Program and Community Health Programs invite the community to a presentation of the HBO series The Weight of the Nation. The series explores the obesity epidemic, causes, solutions and community action. They will show a one hour episode and have an open panel discussion afterward. A light meal will be provided. It is each Wednesday in January from 6-7:30pm in the Community Center social hall. Thursday 1/23 1/23 “Young at Art: 21st Annual Warm Springs Tribal Youth Art Exhibit will be on display in the Museum at Warm Springs’ Changing Exhibits Gallery January 23rd through March 30th.
