Community Policing The community policing phrase has been used widely by our Police Force for many years to tackle crime with little success as the crime rate is still spiralling high in our crime statistics. Our Police Force needs to re-engineer their approach of the Community policing from their present approach of awareness to building a longer term sustainable projects that will involved community in their daily activities. For many instances the Police could build library with internet and ample study places for students who do not have the necessary space at home to study and research as many house are now are fully congested with family members or build gym with equipments in many populated crime infested area to engage our youth in some sporting activities . We know that an empty mind is the devils playground and one thing we need to do is to preoccupied young mind to many activities that will limit the adversary to infiltrating our future nation developers. The Police need to show that the Public is the key stakeholders in this campaign of Community Policing with Community focus project than just building additional Correction facilities and expanding the Police workforce.
