Community Shock Over Murder of 10 Month Old and Shooting of Mother Continues; Republican Party seeking to cash in on family/community pain? =========== Its difficult to accept such a heinous act occurring in our community, in broad daylight, by our own children, against our own children. For those of us who will never accept Black-on-Black crime as being anything less than crimes against our humanity, we pray for this family and we pray for Justice to be served. Our collective grief is deeply felt and it is real. Yet, if what I have been informed by an eyewitness account is true, so to is my disbelief and disgust with someone who would use this familys, and this communitys, pain for political advantage. Again, I hope this is some mistake on the witnesses part, but I am told Jim Stansbury, head of the Jefferson County Republican Party, has shown up in the neighborhood with toys and gifts for the children -- and a political message for voters to turn to his party as a response to the shootings. In essence, Jim Stansbury would use this childs murder as a cause celeb for Republican candidates. I am told they also offered the Republican Headquarters to hold the family repass in following little NeRiah Nene Serenity Miller funeral. Taken at face value, Im sure the toys and gifts will be appreciated as Im sure the repast offer will be. Question is, are they sincerely reaching out to the family due to their loss, or just because of the gains and inroads they are looking to make into our voting base. Speaking of that base, I am also told of possible independent candidates filing to run in the 42nd and in the 43rd Districts in order to further split the Black vote. Perhaps only the Republicans themselves know their heart. But it would not be the first time community tragedy was the excuse for Republican outreach.
