══Community Treasures ♥ Around the Corner══ Give back this new year! Volunteer with A Just Harvest, on North Paulina Street just an 8 minute walk (or 2 minute bike ride) from IMU A Just Harvests Community Kitchen serves dinner to anyone in need every day of the year. Believing it is possible to end hunger and poverty, they started feeding the hungry in 1983, when the Good News Community Church and First Congregational Church of Wilmette began serving a weekly meal. Over the years, A Just Harvest (formerly known as Good News Community Kitchen), in partnership with more than 30 religions congregations and community organizations, has increased their dinner service to seven nights a week. To help serve those in need though, they need your help! A Just Harvest relies upon volunteers to plate, serve, and bus tables in their restaurant-style service.
