Position: Fleet Mechanic Location: DFW – Irving TX Job Description: Due to tremendous growth and continued expansion, Forward Air, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our maintenance team in Irving, Texas as a Fleet Mechanic. Duties include all aspects of vehicles, trailers and other mechanical equipment of Forward Air, while adhering to the compliance of all Forward Air Policies, safe work practices and high customer service. Required Skills: •Must be able to work in a fast paced environment •Evaluates status of mechanical equipment, trailers and vehicles, and performs or schedules needed repairs •Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations •Performs routine truck, trailer and/or forklift P.M.s •Performs tire mounting/dismounting and repairs •Performs minor cosmetic repairs •Performs roadside repairs •Conducts various analysis and inspections of vehicles, trailers and mechanical systems to determine the most cost effective means of maintenance, repair or replacement •Maintains regular and dependable attendance •Maintains work area, tools and equipment •Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools •Performs or assists in the performance of any/all equipment repairs •Performs minor building and facility maintenance •Keeps shop and company tools clean and in good working order •Must be available to work extended hours as required •Other duties as assigned •Perform Data Entry in Maintenance Software to track repairs Qualifications: •Basic keyboarding •H.S.
