Company events for 2014 Gentlemen of the 16th Ala and 27th Ala and all messes contained within. I have received copies from two of our sister units in the battalion for their events for 2014. While putting the 16ths events together, I have as of todays date still not have some of the dates that I need to finish the 16ths list. I do have however enough dates so that all included in this e-mail will know the immediate dates that are deemed to be maximum effort events. The dates I wait on are for fall events. Put these events on your calendar in ink, and everyones support is expected. May 16-18 150th Battle of Resaca September 19 - 21 150th Battles for Atlanta Mark this combined event as Max effort supporting one, the other or both. I must know what I am dealing with so that I can make plans. I do not plan to attend Red River as an officer unless I know that the numbers will not embarrass me. April 4,5,6 Shiloh National Military Park: Friday April 4th giving tour to 8th graders from Indiana, 5th and 6th serving the Parks 6lb gun for artillery demos. Limit of 10. April 6-12 Red River Campaign. We must be with our battalion by 4am Wednesday April 9 at the very latest. We can meet and carpool straight from Shiloh on Sunday evening or work up anything between then and 4 am Wednesday morning. Mark this as a Max Effort July 25 - 27 150 Event for Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon GA. It looks like our battalion is know for its great units, and while we have been asked to help here, our sister units have been asked to help at Kennesaw Mt in June. In theory we could all assist each other, but in reality we must remember that we are already making 3 other trips to the east in 2014, Resaca, Atlanta, and Lookout Mt besides this one. Dont wear yourself too thin on energy or funds, but do as many as you like. Mark this one as your best possible effort. August 29,30 and 31st. Labor Day weekend. Living History at Lookout Company event for the 16th, Max Effort for the 27th September 26-28. Skirmish at Luxapalilla, Winfield, AL Company event for the 27th Max Effort for the 16th October 3,4 Loretto Living History Loretto, TN October 24 - 27 a Spring Hill / Franklin senerio event max effort event 16/27 Company event for the 27th and Max effort for the 16th November 15,16 Florence walking tour as part of the 150 Hood Campaign Mark as a best effort for the 16/27 December 12,13,14 Nashville Living History TBD Vicksburg living history Company event for the 16th Max effort for 27 Hoods 150 Campaign Fort Morgan Living history scheduled for 1st weekend in August.
