Competition to win Jamie Cullum’s piano Hi all, Those of you who live in the Tyne Valley will probably have heard of Core Music in Hexham. If you live further afield you may not have. Core is an amazing local business which encourages people to get involved with music regardless of their background, age or ability. At Core you can learn a dozen instruments, play in clubs, shop, or collaborate with other musicians. We now deliver 8,000 one to one lessons per year! Amazing for a small town like Hexham. In our first few years we have seen how music enables people to make friends, grow in confidence and feel good. If you are local I am sure you will have friends or family who have enjoyed the Core experience. We have just launched an exciting project to teach unemployed people how to make ukuleles (with support from the European Social Fund and local businesses). You will hear more about this soon. Core was set up 6 years ago as a not for profit community enterprise. Fund raising is always a challenge. What we really need now is a piano! That is why we entered a competition to win Jamie Cullum’s piano and we have just learnt that we have made it down to the last six.
