Competitions and standards! I am soon judging at Fantasia Londons Number 1 Festival. I am am so looking forward to it. I have been a Judge on many occasions now in the UK at National level and also in Germany too. Apart from my career prior to Planet Egypt, I was working with live musicians in the Arab Community – ask Tarik Saeed and others !! . Since then my teaching practice has been established for over 15 years and I teach at National level within the UK. Hosting and enjoying Planet Egypt has given me even more opportunity to study dancers and select dancers that enabled Planet Egypt to be the Number 1 monthly show for over 9 years. Many of those I taught regularly are now creating their own opportunities, some are Teachers, some are competition winners too (Cynthia and Roxane). I enjoyed coaching Maëlle Dubeaux Rogerwho won last year’s Trophies, and many others…. It is so important for students to learn from other Teachers and thereby develop their own signature style. This is what makes them stand out and why I so adore watching those who are different. Good luck to all of you and your own dance journeys and my thanks to all those who host events that enable dancers to showcase themselves. Its hard work but very rewarding.
