Complete and Constant Support ...where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. - Ruth 1:16 Miriam-Webster defines loyalty as having or showing complete and constant support for someone or something. That being the case, loyalty is most certainly a precious commodity. Many profess it, but few actually have it (especially when life goes sour). Yet, there are few gifts greater than another persons loyalty, especially when we feel like the whole world is against us. Some relationships with in-laws are challenging because the only reason you have a loyalty to them is that you both love the same person. When that person is gone, there is often little to tie you together. Ruth is one of the Bibles most inspiring women. Her mother-in-law, Naomi, lost her husband and her two sons. One of those sons was Ruths husband. But, listen to Ruths words to Naomi: Where you go, I will go. Where you lodge, I will lodge and your people shall be my people and your God, my God. And where you die, I will die and there I will be buried. That is what I call loyalty. She not only said it, she kept her word.
