Completely zoned out on going to yoga last night. Watched The Descendants with my daughter instead. Id seen it when it first came out and really enjoyed it again. We also watched We Bought A Zoo the other night which was surprisingly good. Oh, and a sleeper that I came across on Netflix: The Way, Way Back with Steve Carell and Toni Colette was a nice little gem. Again, a few plot hiccups--the final scene on the water slide seemed unnecessary to me as did the forced dancing on the cardboard, but great acting, some awesome characters, and Steve Carell plays a complete jerk for a change. And now that Im listing all the movies Ive watched lately, Im starting to feel guilty, but one more from Sunday night: Enough Said. This is the James Gandolfini, Julia Louis Dreyfuss film which became James last role. I quite enjoyed it even though it was a bit like watching Elaine back herself into an impossible situation as per every Seinfeld episode. Im seeing a pattern because Enough Said had a similar tone to The Descendants and The Way, Way Back. Quiet dramas about flawed humans. Toni Collette is in Enough Said and is her usual amazing self. They all had some nice laughs. Pick one. Watch em all. I did.
