Complex carbohydrate foods are simply those in wholegrain form such as wholegrain breads, oats, muesli and brown rice. Complex carbs are divided into glucose more slowly than simple carbohydrates and therefore provide a gradual steady stream of energy through the day. Here are some foods that contain complex carbohydrates: Whole-wheat, whole oats/oatmeal, brown rice, whole rye, whole grain barley, wild rice, buckwheat, bulgur /cracked wheat, millet, quinoa, and sorghum. Try and make it your goal to try a complex carb this week....a meal idea to follow :)
