Our client’s exciting growth plans mean that that this incoming Compliance Director must be able to provide high-level compliance-related legal advice and counseling to the company’s leadership and staff on a variety of drug-related federal and state compliance requirements in order to prevent or minimize legal risk to the company. Responsibilities will include counseling the company on meeting reporting requirements on relevant industry compliance issues such as OIG requirements relating to audits and investigations and will also counsel on fraud and abuse issues relating to sales and marketing activities, including the Anti-kickback Statute, NCPA and False Claims Act. This person will provide advice/guidance to management and staff on implications of compliance trends/issues affecting the company. Candidates should at a minimum be experienced in counseling on the application of OIG requirements as well as anti-corruption laws as they affect biotech companies. Additional experience with corporate training on compliance-related issues as well as internal investigation work would also be very welcome. A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience would be ideal, though well-credentialed law-firm candidates with suitable backgrounds could still be very viable candidates. Our client will offer a very competitive compensation package that includes both additional bonus and equity components, on a scale commensurate with experience. The company is very open to relocation for this hire. This position is conveniently located in downtown Washington D.C.
