Compliance Specialist Job Summary: The Compliance Specialist position is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt, on-site position in Detroit, MI reporting to the Coding Manager of our Reimbursement & Advisory Services division. Will consider remote for the right candidate. Responsibilities: The Compliance Specialist will assist with the coding and documentation auditing function of a Physician Group. This individual will act as an in-house consultant for physicians, coders and other Physician Group staff while managing audits and the auditing process. The Compliance Specialist will resolve issues related to documentation, coding, billing, and the federal and state rules and regulations that govern them. Experience: 5-7 years of healthcare or health plan industry compliance or legal experience, clinic and/or hospital billing systems with an emphasis on ICD-9, CPT-4, HCPCS, APC or DRG coding. 5-7 years working with regulatory agencies and a working knowledge of federal health care or health plan requirements. Project management experience desired. Qualifications: Knowledge/understanding of federal regulatory requirements and pricing for Health System Compliance Specialists, CPT-4, HCPCS, APC, DRG and ICD-9 coding. Ability to research and problem solve. Deductive thinking and analytical reasoning a must. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Knowledge and experience in health care or health plan compliance, with a particular emphasis on Medicare, Medical Assistance and other government programs.
