Complicated and beautiful Mothers Day this year. My genetic mother died this year, and on the verge of connecting with this genetically-bound family, they stopped communicating with me after I revealed Im gay. I have a 19 year old staying with me who is estranged from her mother. And I will simply say co-parenting after divorce is hard. Grateful that my mother, my kids, and I are solid. All that, and I still have giggles and the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen, as I pretend to sleep in as instructed.
